Employment law advice and assistance

Overview of services

Employment law is based on a mixture of contractual, common law and statutory rights.   I am able to advise on appropriate terms before you enter into an employment contract and when things go wrong advise on the interpretation of contractual terms.  If you have a dispute at work I can advise on your legal rights and on using internal procedures initially to resolve issues. When issues have not been successfully resolved through internal procedures I can assist you to bring proceedings in the employment tribunal, whether “standing and suing” while continuing in the employment relationship or after employment has ended. Where the employment relationship has come to an end and in order to settle claims, I can advise on entering into an appropriate Settlement (or Compromise) Agreement, including advising on appropriate compensation and on the implications of the terms of the agreement.  In order to be legally binding the employee must take independent legal advice on such an agreement.
